N&H for Books

The issue of literacy may not seem a typical subject for a cat blog. However, the subject is very near and dear to my heart.  I love to read and probably the hardest adjustment of my visual impairment is not reading comfortably and more efficiently.  Limited to Braille or books on tape (and none of it current), I’m lucky to live in an age where alternative formats, digital and audio materials are more accessible, and I can still indulge my love of the written word.

Anyone can read, anyone can be taught to read better.  Naked and Hungry is as much a metaphor as it is a title for this blog.  We want people to shake off the difficulties and be hungry for books.  Your local library is waiting to stir your imagination and start you on a journey without boundaries.

I will let you know early next year how you can help us promote literacy.  We will be sharing the stories we love and hope you will not only consider reading them on your own but also help us make that content available to others.  We’ll talk later.
