Chomper Madness - Words for Wednesday

Well, thank the heavens (and Amy Palmer of Sebastian, the Sensitive Soul who has great and powerful Karma). Moshe Moshi's dental cleaning went extremely well.  The Takoma Park Animal Clinic takes great care of everyone's furry baby, but also takes extra care when putting naked pets under full or slight anesthetization.  Our sweet late Ms. Maus had issues with keeping her body temperature during procedures, so the clinic tends to monitor my cats with a bit more intensity when they show up at the clinic.  I get excellent service, and they really like my kidz.

Moshe Moshi's teeth look fantastic.  They did an extraordinary job on the staining this time.  Though he will never have bright/white teeth, 99% of the staining is gone!.  I was very pleased though I don't think the monster appreciates it very much (he would not let me snap a quick shot of his cleaned chompers).  He could not wait to get home and out of the carrier.  I wish I could have gotten my camera out fast enough to catch it; he leaped out of the SleepyPod and ran to his brother immediately to give him headbutts.  They've been inseparable every since.

This is Pet Dental Month and a good reason if you haven't done so to get your pet's teeth examined and/or cleaned.  Ask your Vet about dental care.

  6. That's great that the teeth cleaning went well. I never thought about it being harder for naked pets to be under anesthesia but it makes sense.

    1. For anyone, pet or person under anesthesia, keeping body temperature up is an effort; slowing heart rates and lowing brain activity. the body is not fighting to stay warm because its not aware that it is cold (explained to me by a Dr. friend). They always put my cats in thermal warps and I've had no problems since. Moshe Moshi is always mad when they won't let him stay in one. I'll have to buy him one.

  7. Glad the cleaning went well! As pet parents, we have to do what's best for them even if they don't like it! Great photo. Your cats are very cute and look like they get along great.

    1. The boyz have a love/hate relationship. Moshe Mshi adores Jake and follows him like a puppy. Jake is not fond of Mshoe Moshi; except when he is either cold or lonely. They have learned to coexist in state of mutual need for warmth.

    2. I see! That always seems to be the way it is when it comes to cats. One is loving, and the other could care less! At least you can take advantage of times like these, when they are coexisting for warmth, and capture the adorable moment.
