Dragons and Lions on the Mall

Normally, if someone told me there were Dragons and Lions in the Mall, I think I'd do my shopping elsewhere. However, there are Dragons and Lions "on" the Mall in this case. That doesn't mean they are on the roof, rather I mean the National Mall in Washington D.C.

The 43rd Smithsonian FolkLife Festival has arrived on the Mall. This year's themes are China and Kenya (no conspiracies please. The President's relatives are not involved or present in either group). The Festival will run through this Sunday (June 29), take a pause for the Smithsonian Employee Day Picnic, then start again on the 2nd of July and run through the weekend (July 6).

It's much to see and do on the Mall for the Holiday week; it will be busy. However the Festival is tons of fun and you can always go to one of the Smithsonian Museums to cool off or see a movie (all Smithsonian Museums are FREE admission). The weather forecast for the weekend is pretty good; Humidity will be fairly low and since there is a good chance the July 4th festivities might be a washout (40% chance of Thunder Storms July 4th, 5th and 6th) this may be the best weekend to experience the Festival, so come on out.  You might see Moshe Moshi and me strolling around.
